Assembly Overview

This section walks through the complete assembly of Trashbot.

Before you start

  • Review the Bill of Materials and confirm you have all parts.
  • Download the laser cut files from the images directory before your first session.
  • Tools needed: screwdrivers, drill, soldering iron, wire strippers.

Assembly Steps

Follow the guides in order:

  1. Frame — Set up the dolly and attach the laser-cut circular mounting plate
  2. Electronics & Wiring — Mount ODrive, build filtering PCBs, wire motors and Raspberry Pi
  3. Drive System — Understand the hoverboard differential drive system
  4. Sensors & Accessories — Mount GoPro and attach the trash bin

Tools Required

  • Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
  • Power drill (for dolly holes)
  • Soldering iron and solder
  • Wire strippers
  • Multimeter
  • Laptop (for SSH and ODrive tool)
  • Access to a laser cutter
